BEng. Aeronautical Engineering

This degree is based on the elements essential to the efficient production of aircraft, including aircraft structures, flight systems, aerodynamics and design. A distinctive feature of the course is the way in which aircraft design is brought into sharp focus in parallel with a full treatment of the fundamental science subjects.
Experimental and project work run throughout the course and culminate in the personal project in the final year. Other highlights of the final year include principles of advanced flight control, aerodynamics of high-speed vehicles and structural analysis using finite-element methods.

The core modules of the course are supported by laboratory work, project work and computer facilities. Skills in mathematics, communications and group-work are presented in modules, designed to support the assessment procedures of the course as a whole.
